What to expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step.

We’re here to make it a little easier.

At Phases, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, nonjudgmental space where your voice matters. We prioritize building trust and rapport from the very first session. You’ll feel heard, supported, and also gently challenged when it serves your growth.

The Process

Initial Consultation
We’ll start with a brief phone or video consult to make sure we’re a good fit and answer any questions you have.

Intake Session
Your first session is about getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy.

Ongoing Sessions
Together, we’ll co-create a plan that works for you. Therapy may involve exploring patterns, learning skills, processing emotions, or simply having space to reflect.

We understand that growth can be uncomfortable—but we’ll be right there with you. Our approach is grounded in empathy, ethics, and evidence-based care, always centered around your needs and goals.

Paying for Services

At Phases Counseling Collective, our goal is to make high-quality mental health care as accessible and affordable as possible. We understand that therapy is an investment—in yourself, your relationships, and your future—and we’re committed to helping you find a payment option that works for you.

Insurance

We are in network with:

Aetna

Cigna/Evernorth

United Healthcare/Optum

South Carolina Medicaid

We are expanding our payer list every week. If you’re hoping to use insurance for your sessions, please reach out to ask about current coverage options and anticipated timelines for specific plans.

We’re happy to verify your benefits and walk you through what using your insurance might look like for therapy.

Self-Pay Options

If you’re not using insurance, we offer self-pay rates to keep care as affordable and transparent as possible.

Our rates vary depending on the provider’s level of experience and licensure:

Associate-Level Clinicians
$85 per session
Working under the supervision of fully licensed professionals, these clinicians offer skilled, compassionate care at a reduced rate. This is a great option for clients seeking support with life transitions, anxiety, identity development, or stress-related concerns.

Fully Licensed Clinicians
$150 per session
Experienced therapists offering a wide range of specialized care tailored to your individual goals.

We also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need and availability. Please don’t hesitate to ask.

Why choose Phases?
